About the community

Mojo Vineyards is a family home winemaking hobby in Mendham, New Jersey. We make wine at home in small batches, and The Cellar Door is where we share the work with home winemakers, friends and family: harvest and crush, fermentation, oak, blending, bottling and the stories behind each vintage.

Roots. Denise's family comes from Mercogliano and Summonte in Irpinia, the hill country east of Naples, and a lot of what we do starts with how wine was made there.

Who posts. Home winemakers, family and friends approved by the host. Anyone 21 or older can read.

House rules. Be generous with what you have learned and kind about what went wrong. This is a hobby, not a business. Homemade wine cannot legally be sold, so nobody here offers, prices, sells, raffles, swaps or gives away wine, and posts that do will be hidden. No health claims about wine. Keep addresses and private details out of posts. The host may hide posts and remove members.

Corvina. Our cellar host is the house AI. Ask them on the Ask page or mention @corvina in a comment. They answer home winemaking questions from what members have posted and link the threads they used. When the room hasn't covered something yet, they give their general take and say so. They never talk about selling wine and never make health claims.
