Our first Fiano, from Mercogliano and Summonte

Mike Smith, Mojo Vineyards Host · Nov 8, 2026

Mojo Vineyards has crushed our first white grapes from home: Fiano from Mercogliano and Summonte, the two hill towns in Avellino where Denise's family begins.

Fiano is the great white grape of Irpinia. It grows on the same slopes beneath Montevergine that Frank Manfra and Giuseppa Guerriero knew before they came to New Jersey. Making wine from it at Corey Manor is about as close as we can get to bringing those towns to our table.

The wine has finished fermenting and is now aging. If all goes well, it will be bottled and ready to pour for Easter 2027. Like everything we make, it will never be sold. It is made to give to the people we love.
